In early 2020, My pastor gave a great series on ten lessons for a life of significance. He stated, “Success alone will never satisfy your life, it’s when you move from success to significance that life takes on meaning and satisfaction.”
- Be Prepared
To experience a significant life, you must make the right choices and follow the right principles. Staying on the right path starts with your heart. Are you a humble and passionate person? Are you dependable, thoughtful and trustworthy?
- See and Seize the Right Opportunity
In order to have a significant life, we must respond to the right opportunities. Often times, they present themselves as a challenge. How you respond to these challenges determines not only your future but your legacy.
- Partner with the Right People
Having a significant life requires you to make wise choices about the selection of your friends. Dr. Steve Marabol states this perfectly, “If you hang out with chickens, you’re going to cluck and if you hang out with eagles, you’re going to fly.” True friendship requires a commitment to demonstrate unconditional love. Who are your friends? Our pastor eloquently stated, “You need to be the right kind of friend to have the right friends. “
- Seek God’s Guidance
In order to have a significant life, you need the best guidance. The bible provides a good road map on how to obtain wisdom, which results in good decisions.
- Pass the Character Tests
To experience a significant life, requires a strong character. When times are tough, you must remain strong and trust that everything happens for a reason.
