Playing a sight word game helps a child automatically recognize sight words. Sudoku forces a child to play with each letter in a word – ultimately requiring a child to check proper letter position 12 times. Playing games helps reinforce previously learned sight words or provides an opportunity to introduce new ones.

The following worksheet helps a child practice the sight word, said, as well as play a fun game. To complete this worksheet, fill in the Sudoku grid so that every box, column and row contain the letters, “s”, “a”, “i” & “d”. Make sure the letters appear once in each row, column and box – there are twelve possible combinations (4 rows, 4 columns and 4 boxes).
