The word search below was created using 12 high frequency words that are commonly found in printed material. Some of these sight words are irregular words; they do not follow typically spelling rules. As a result, these words are taught as whole words – a child will need to learn how to spell them by memory and recognize them upon sight.

We created this puzzle to mimic how we read, so most of words are from left to right (forward). To make the puzzle a little challenging, 2 words are from top to bottom, run vertically on the word search.

The sight word search below was created using a teacher’s font. The teacher’s font forms each letter in the conventional way. Depending upon your browser’s font, some letters are presented differently than the conventional method, e.g. “I,” “a” & “g.” A child will eventually need to know these letters are used interchangeably in written material.
