Sight Word Worksheets – List 2

Sight Word Worksheets – List 2

After a child masters the first 25 kindergarten sight words, proceed to the next list of 25 sight words. Similar to the first list, these words are ideal because they appear frequently in both stories and texts. When a child can quickly recognize sight words, he no longer places emphasis on decoding each individual word but rather shifts his focus to understanding the text. Help your child obtain a sight word vocabulary by completing the worksheets below.

Sight Words Worksheets

The sight word worksheets noted below will help your child automatically recognize a sight word. Ideally, the worksheets should be completed in sequential order, e.g. begin with the sight words “she” and “was.” As always, review previously taught sight words as often as possible. Sight Words

The 25 sight words are noted below. Another great activity is to create flash cards. Using lower-case letters and a black marker, write each sight word on a separate index card. Consider cutting off the upper left-hand corner so you can easily shuffle the cards and then have all the words facing the same direction. Select a few cards and review them with your child. Mix up the cards and then show them to your child who should quickly recognize the cards. Correct him when he mispronounces a word. Every child progresses differently but it is recommend to begin with a few words and gradually build a sight word vocabulary. Always review previously taught words.

she out no are run
was big not they his
he little going from will
went yes down have one
by with where for of

Using sight word worksheets, a journal and index cards are three great exercises that assist a child in automatically recognizing the kindergarten sight words.
